Carlos is a vital member of the BLUR Workshop team, combining his artistic vision with practical experience to enrich the creative process. He adopts a humanistic approach to design, emphasizing the conceptual theory of architectural space and translating it into the built environment, from broad concepts down to the most intimate details. He excels at delivering creative solutions to complex challenges at all stages of a project's lifecycle. With a background in visual arts, he blends his architectural expertise with artistic expression, crafting imaginative and immersive environments characterized by elaborate volumes and expressive materials. This approach adds depth to his designs while ensuring functionality.
Currently at BLUR Workshop, Carlos is a team leader on the transformative Gaylord Palms lobby renovation. He was also integral to the recently completed Old Hickory renovation at Gaylord Palms and the award winning Bonny Moon Beach Club on Grand Cayman Island. In recent years prior, he was a key team member for the Virgin Hotels Miami Tower, being responsible for core architectural elements from concept design through design development. Prior to BLUR Workshop, Carlos practiced at the design firm, The Lunz Group, in Lakeland, Florida where he worked on a variety of building types. His most significant projects include the renovation of a boutique hotel in Winter Haven, Florida and a renovation of a mixed-use office space for a co-working company in Lakeland, Florida. During that time, Carlos also contributed to the conceptual design for the NOAA hurricane hunters’ hanger at Lakeland Regional Airport. His professional experience combined with thoughtful demeanor and clear, concise focus makes Carlos a highly valued member of the BLUR Workshop team.
