Debbie joined BLUR Workshop at the top of her career, bringing a wealth of knowledge and different perspective to the team.  Previously of Blackdog Studio, she has over a decade and a half of hospitality experience in both new construction and renovation projects all across North America and has collaborated with the largest hotel brands. Her extensive resume focuses on full service hotels and resorts for previously known Starwood Hotels & Resorts, Marriott International, InterContinental Hotels & Resorts, and Hyatt Brands, taking on the role to transform spaces that cater to the likes of well-traveled guests from all over the world. Her portfolio also includes the rebranding of real estate properties for Starwood Capital that had lost their luster.  Debbie was instrumental in their successful transformation into fully occupied spaces that were sought after within the market. She has a knack for designing spaces that give way for each hotel to establish its own identity and unique look while still implementing the Brand’s core elements and principles. As a project lead, Debbie collaborates closely with owners, various brand teams, architects, construction managers, purchasing agents, and other consultants from conceptual design to construction administration to ensure a successful execution of a project. Her attention to detail with FF&E documentation, close vendor relationships, and her extensive knowledge of furniture design has helped mentor other designers throughout her career.  It’s her combination of talent, experience and personality that make Debbie a perfect addition to the BLUR Workshop team.

Debbie graduated from the University of Georgia with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Interior Design in 2004 and was the recipient of the Networking of Executive Women in Hospitality Scholarship. She dabbled in residential design in Key West before finding her way to the world of Hospitality Design and has been enamored with it ever since. While not designing hotels, Debbie keeps herself busy by helping others in planning and organizing weddings and events, fabricating costumes and apparel, painting, sketching and handcrafting a variety of specialty items. She has always had a love for creating and expressing things through art and design.
