Ellery Susa
Ellery joined BLUR in 2024 after graduating in the top 20% of her class from the Georgia Institute of Technology with her Master of Architecture. Before this, she received her Bachelor of Design in Architecture at the University of Florida in 2022, graduating Summa Cum Laude. Her minor in Urban and Regional Planning at Florida as well as a concentration in Urban Design at Tech has allowed her to explore the larger picture associated with architecture and its impact on the environment + buildings that surround us, which she has really found a liking to.
Since starting her architecture studies, Ellery has had four different internships which have allowed her to work on various commercial buildings in Jacksonville, high-rises in New York City, and luxury residential architecture in Atlanta. This past year, she competed in the ULI Hines Student Competition, and her group was named one of the four finalists (being the first all-women group to make it to the finals). Ellery also loves the theory + history side of architecture, having two published research papers and being a co-editor for an architecture novel. Both at Florida and Tech, she served on the executive board of the American Institute of Architecture Students, the National Organization of Minority Architecture Students, + Equity in Architecture.
Ellery considers herself one of the lucky ones as she always knew she wanted to do architecture as a child. She loves the expression and freedom of design and loves to be involved with it in any way she can. Ellery is very passionate about designing spaces that bring people of all cultures, ethnicities, and religions together in one place such as stadiums, theaters, and mixed-use structures.
Outside of BLUR, Ellery enjoys playing tennis and soccer as well as watching any and all sports (Go Bills). She is known for taking photographs anywhere she goes, thrifting, constantly traveling to New York City, and scrolling on Nike’s website.
