Roberto Bucheli Miranda
Roberto is an architect and designer with 10+ years of experience, is originally from Quito, Ecuador. He joined BLUR Workshop in 2018 and has a diverse extent of professional experiences, honing his skills at a design-build residential firm, serving as a studio instructor at Georgia Institute of Technology, and designing complex façades as a consultant.
Roberto’s expertise ranges between leading design, solving challenging geometries and assemblies, technical envelope consulting, and driving project development from schematics to construction completion. His creativity shines through notable built projects like a Custom Cast Glass Brick Façade Wall, which is LED Programmable and remotely controlled, along with a Moiré Pinup Wall which visually reacts to the movement of persons walking by; both designed and built in collaboration with classmates and now permanently installed in the Hinman Research Building at Georgia Tech.
Prior to BLUR, Roberto leveraged his skills as a façade consultant. He delivered intricate construction details, solved complex geometries, managed procurement, and thermal analysis for visionary architects like Shigeru Ban and Herzog & de Meuron.
At BLUR, Roberto's focus has been instrumental in the successful design and development of several projects. His strong managerial, organizational, and communication skills have been vital in the Radford Highlander Hotel, a 32-story unbuilt Miami tower, the Gathering House at Lake Oconee, and currently, a waterpark facility in Colorado.
His passion lies in crafting inspiring visions for each project, leveraging novel technologies and methodologies to creatively solve innovative design challenges with meticulous attention to detail. When he's not at the office, you might find him on the tennis court, immersed in a thrilling soccer match, or enjoying the indie and electronic music scene.
